Toni Stirrup
Ward Manager
Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Due to her enthusiasm, hard work and passion for nursing, Toni has seen extraordinary success as a Liverpool Nurse.

Starting as a healthcare assistant on an acute medical ward, Toni consistently went above and beyond her role and displayed exceptional potential for a career in nursing. She was recommended for nurse training, which the hospital sponsored her to complete, and since then has climbed the ranks to ward manager.

“Being a Liverpool Nurse is great. I feel like I’m part of one big family and there is always someone I can turn to for support.

“Every single day on the ward is a learning opportunity and I’ve been supported through every step of my career development. The team on the ward are so friendly and always looking out for each other, which is so important when you have a busy day.

“If you’re willing to put in the work, you will be rewarded and supported to go above and beyond what you thought was possible. Back when I was a healthcare assistant, I didn’t ever think I would be where I am today.

“If you are passionate about nursing and want to turn it into a successful career, I’d definitely recommend that you become a Liverpool Nurse.”
