New nurses make big splash!

Newly-qualified nurses working at Aintree University Hospital had a special welcome event and joined our social media campaign to promote the benefits of being a Liverpool Nurse. Nearly 10,000 people saw their post, with thousands liking, sharing and commenting to help spread the word about what a great place we are to work.

Nurses support lifesaving knife wound scheme

Nurses from both Aintree and the Royal joined medical colleagues for the launch of the Knifesavers project. The pioneering scheme sees special first aid kits for use if someone is stabbed being installed in pubs and clubs across the city. Training was provided for pub and club staff, and more packs will be rolled out to more locations shortly.

Safety first in Liverpool

David and Damian took their turn to help share safety tips with colleagues as part of our work for the first World Patient Safety Day in September 2019. The day included drop in session where nursing staff showcased the work they had done in our hospitals to increase safety for our patients.

Taking pride in our hospitals

Nurses show off their new NHS rainbow badges

Nurses at our hospitals signed up to our Pride Pledge and wore their NHS rainbow badges to stress our commitment to diversity as part of Liverpool Pride 2019.  Nearly 1,000 staff signed up in the first week of the campaign alone, signifying their commitment to offer open, non-judgemental and inclusive care and support for LGBT+ patients and colleagues.
